Rebel in Rose

The Story of a Woman Learning to Stay Soft Without Losing Herself

Part of my life has been about learning how to survive transformation without losing myself inside it.

Leaving Iran and rebuilding life in Sweden shaped me deeply. There is something emotionally complex about becoming a diaspora woman. Part of you adapts, evolves, and learns how to move through an entirely different world, while another part of you remains fiercely connected to where you came from.

For years, I believed strength meant carrying everything. Being understanding. Enduring more. Making yourself easier for others to hold.

Like many women, I became so focused on maintaining peace around me that little by little, I drifted away from myself.

But art became the place where I could no longer hide.

Painting is not just image making for me. It is emotional release. A way of translating feelings that live deeper than language.

Rebel in Rose came from that space.

The woman who is both soft and exhausted. Who still loves beauty after disappointment. A woman learning she does not need to become cold to become powerful.

The pink in this piece represents the part of myself that stayed tender despite everything. The part that can still feel, create, desire, and remain open.

And that is where the rebel lives.

Not in anger.

In awakening.

In finally learning how to stay soft without abandoning yourself anymore.
